Who should attend:
This session is aimed at individuals who work or volunteer with adults who may be vulnerable to abuse.
Overview
This session will provide participants with an understanding of what to look for to safeguard adults from harm, how to recognise abuse, respond effectively and refer appropriately.
Topics covered:
• An overview of the legislation relevant to adult safeguarding• The risks associated with vulnerable adults and how to help lower these risks• An explanation of 10 types of abuse• Recognising signs and symptoms of different forms of abuse• How to deal with a disclosure of abuse• Referral and reporting procedures - the internal processes and the responsibility of local authorities
Please note this accredited free training is supported by Shropshire Council and managed by the Shropshire Infrastructure Partnership Voluntary & Community Support Team. To support community groups, voluntarily organisations and volunteers within Shropshire only. This course is part of a launch offer and we are offering two free places per organisation for courses held between March and May. Free spaces are limited and restricted to two places per organisation.
This training will be delivered via Zoom. Once you have successfully booked onto your chosen free course. You will be emailed a few days before the training date, to give you the meeting ID and password to join the session
We do offer a waiting list facility. So, if you are unable to attend, please could you let us know as soon as possible via email so we can then offer your free place to someone else.
