Adult Safeguarding Basic Awareness
Overview
This session provides a basic awareness of Adult Safeguarding in the context of charities, community groups and social enterprises operating in Kirklees. It will be suitable for volunteers and paid staff.
We will cover:
What we mean by safeguarding
Types of abuse and neglect
How to report a concern
and Creating a safe culture within your organisation.
The format will be interactive with some group activities and scenarios relevant to the third sector.
Please note the training does not cover Safeguarding Children and we recommend you undertake the Kirklees Safegarding Childrens Partnership basic awareness e-learning for this: https://kirklees.event-booking.org.uk/elearning-detail/%3D%3DQN3cjN/An-Awareness-of-Child-Abuse-and-Neglect
Please note: This event is organised by TSL Kirklees - a local charity that gives free support, advice and training to any charity, community group or social enterprise in Kirklees - and is only open to any workers, trustees or volunteers from third sector organisations based or working in Kirklees. Our events and services are free because, like any other charity, we rely on grants and funding. If you have booked a place and then cannot make it, please cancel your place via Eventbrite or by emailing comms@tslkirklees.org.uk, so that we can offer that place to someone else and so that our funding isn't wasted.
