About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

We are running small group face-to-face training sessions on Advance Care Planning suitable for health and social care staff.

The training includes:

  • Understanding the principles and process of Advance Care Planning (ACP)
  • Identify the benefits of ACP to patients, family, professionals and carers
  • Developing effective communication skills
  • Awareness of the barriers to ACP
  • Understanding the implications of the Mental Capacity Act
  • Awareness of local resources to support individuals in the ACP planning process
  • Understanding of own role involvement and that of the multidisciplinary team, family and carers

This training session counts as 3 hours towards your continuous professional development and a certificate will be issued on completion.
