Learning Outcomes

  • Comprehensively understand the principles, theory and safe practice of bone augmentation
  • Competently evaluate, diagnose, assess, and plan suitable augmentation cases
  • Critically identify and evaluate the choice of techniques for bone augmentation to enhance implant treatment
  • Competently perform advanced surgical procedures on cadaveric specimens and reflect on this experience
  • Evaluate complex legal and ethical principles underlying bone grafting patient care
  • Critically evaluate the fundamental principles that underpin sound occlusal practice
  • Systematically diagnose occlusal dysfunction and treatment plan complex occlusal restorative cases
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use of a semi adjustable articulator and proficiently manage the restorative treatment of patients with occlusal problems
  • Comprehensively understand the effects of occlusion on implant patients

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APEL) towards MSc in Oral Implantology

Individuals successfully completing this programme will be able to accredit their learning towards College of Medicine and Dentistry MSc in Oral Implantology.

Students will be able to APEL to the end of the second year of the Master’s programme (subject to completion of relevant assessment) and offset monies already paid against the fee for the MSc in Oral Implantology.

  • Scan and Go Technology for intra oral x-rays offering the ease of using film with the benefits of digital technology;

  • 15 dental pods in teaching set up with Belmont Cleo and Compass chairs for clinical supervision.
