Our team of frontline specialist Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) practitioners have developed this one day CPD accredited course to share their experience, tools, techniques and resources they find particularly effective, developed over years of working with victims of CSE. This is a highly participatory course with the key focus being on practical support and exploring challenges and responses in a safe space.

Who is this course aimed at?

Attendees should have a solid understanding of CSE, risk factors and vulnerabilities. They should have a direct working relationship with young people at significant risk of CSE (or supervising a practitioner with similar responsibilities). This can include: social workers, pastoral care staff, residential care staff, police, MST staff, youth offending workers.

What this course covers:

• Understanding and having the tools and resources for working with denial/resistance

• How to work with ‘resistant’ young people

• Working with those identified at high risk or currently experiencing CSE

• Working with Roma, BME groups and learning disabilities

• Dealing with disclosures effectively

• Understanding the links between victims becoming perpetrators, and how to work with this group

• Develop a better understanding of working with young people who have additional needs and how to support those that fall into this category

• Implementing problem solving techniques

• Tips and feedback to workers from young people themselves
