Event Details

We are proud to present this exciting new programme hosted by our Music department.

This is a 10 week programme, during which  we’ll take an in-depth look at the tools of your trade. As well as informal lectures and seminars there will be plenty of opportunities to gain personal experience with top-quality vintage and contemporary equipment in the studio environment. There will also be DIY workshops for setting up guitars, upgrading pickups and pots, making basic pedals and recording techniques. No previous experience of luthiery or electronics is required – and a passion for all things guitar is more important than technical proficiency.

Why study this course?

This is a hands on dynamic course utilising the best of our music facilities at Goldsmiths. You'll have the chance to learn more about the following guitar related topics:

• Vintage and contemporary electric guitar design
• Brands and models
• Guitars, amplifiers and pedals – basic DIY and upgrades
• Digital modelling
• Recording techniques

If you have any further questions about this course please email shortcourse@gold.ac.uk and we'll be happy to help.
