Event description

Description

This 2 day course covers:

  • Classification of TMD, orofacial pain and headaches according to ICH/AAOP and RDC/TMD guidelines.

  • Dental and neurological aspects of orofacial pain.

  • Management of orofacial pain and knowledge of when to refer complex presentations to other care providers.

  • Sleep disorders, bruxism, red flags, cranial nerve testing, quantitative sensory testing, dentogenic screening, chronic and neuropathic pain.

  • Treatment techniques.

CPD: 12 hours (0845-16.45 each day)

Prerequisite: Foundation TMD management course and knowledge of anatomy of the masticatory system.

  • Associate Lecturer at Saxion University and The SOMT University

  • Studied Dentistry at Groningen 1982-1990
  • Progressive Orthodontic Seminars1996-1998
  • Post-graduate Program in Gnathology/OFP 2013-2016
  • Former owner of C.A. van der Spuij Dental Practice in Halsteren
  • Dental-gnathologist and dental sleep specialist at Alrijne Hospital in Leiderdorp and ADRZ Hospital in Goes
