Course Description

The aim of this course is to provide a clear understanding of Safeguarding and child protection for those in contact with children and young people. It seeks to provide you with a confidence in safeguarding and in doing so, protect children in your work place or those you may come into contact with.

This course is for all staff who work in a variety of roles with children, young people and/or their parents/carers or an adult who could pose a risk to children.

It is particularly relevant for those who potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and/or evaluating the needs of a child or young person outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) and Keeping Children Safe in Education (2019).

The course also includes the appropriate levels of competence outlined for Health in the Intercollegiate Document (2019).
