Description

The National Day Nurseries Association is working with Hampshire County Council to provide registered early years settings with Safeguarding training.

'Advanced Safeguarding' will extend your basic safeguarding knowledge; it will be delivered in 2 x 1.5 hour sessions. You will also have access to our Early Years Development Zone enabling you to download resources to compliment this training and your certificate (you will have to attend both sessions to access your certificate).

This course will help you to:

  • Examine your role as the designated safeguarding person in your setting and understand your own areas of responsibility

  • Explore the Ofsted Inspecting Safeguarding document

  • Explore ways to ensure that staff (including yourself) have regular updates

  • Explore e-safety and social media in relation to safeguarding

  • Analyse Serious Case Reviews and the impact this has on the safeguarding children in your care

  • Explore ‘safe recruitment’ and what this means

  • Be informed about the disqualification by association

  • Make informed decisions about the action to take when concerned about a child in your care

  • Analyse the referral process
