Advanced Sashiko Panel – Panel Sashiko Uwch

Details of session

We will be working through a complex Sashiko Panel, this is not a easy project and beginners should be wary of booking. There will be guidance along the way and a structutred approach to completing the panel.

Week 1 - All borders, centre and large flowers (Moyozashi)

Week 2 - Plum Blossom and coin Variation (both Hitomezashi)

Week 3 – Asanhoa patterns

You will need to do some stitching between sessions.

Materials you need to supply - all standard crafters stash stuff 😊

The panel is available from Japan Crafts, Susan Briscoe and BE BE Bold (Europe). The panel is the Olympus H-2144 hana temari (flower ball) and can be on a blue or white background

Threads – Sashiko is best but Perle no 8 any brand will do, you will need approximately100 m of sashiko thread - as long as you stitch in the traditional way, others methods will use more thread.

Needles

Scissors.

When you get the panel DO NOT iron it, this may set the chalk as permanent.
