ADVANCED trauma informed care training for frontline staff and managers

About this Event

The course will be delivered online utilising Zoom, PowerPoint and Slido. Participants will be provided with a course booklet and an embedding trauma informed booklet. The course covers:

Day 1, 18/11/20 9-15am-1.15pm: Complex Trauma Theories & Responses - Building on the 6 key principles of Trauma Informed Care (SAMSHA 2012) by exploring evidence-based responses: CAT, EMDR, Schema Therapy, DBT, CBT-TF

Day 2, 19/11/20 9-15am-1.15pm: Validation, Distress Tolerance & Boundaries - Understanding and demonstrating true validation, exploring, and utilising effective distress tolerance techniques/ emotional regulation, and understanding professional boundaries from a trauma informed perspective

• Day 3, 20/11/20 9-15am-1.15pm: Team Formulations, Reflexive Practice & Embedding Advanced TIC: Understanding team dynamics through effective formulations, vicarious trauma/healing and embedding reflexive practice and further advanced trauma responses into practice and services

Who is it for?

Any frontline staff/operational management who understand trauma informed care or have attended introductory trauma informed care (for the introduction of Trauma Informed Care, please email: enquiries@risk-and-resilience.co.uk)

A Trauma Informed specialist who has delivered training and consulted with many charities and local authorities in how to successfully implement trauma informed practice, procedure, and policy.

Dr. Lisa Keegan: Small Steps to Wellbeing, lisa.keegan@smallsteps2wellbeing.co.uk

A Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Practioner, HCPC registered and a member of the British Psychological Society. Dr. Keegan specialises in a variety of trauma presentations and supports them with a variety of psychologically informed models. She also has a background of working with teams and systems in implementing psychologically informed practice.

Please note:

• Your ticket covers all three consecutive sessions

• Delegates must attend all three sessions to complete the course

• Delegates must be able to access Zoom on an appropriate device (smart phones are not recommended) with a broadband speed capable of handling the course

• If the person no longer can access the course, their place can be handed to a colleague, but the trainer must be informed at least 24hrs prior to the course start date
