Advancing Innovation in Health: Idea Workshop
Sat 25 March 2017, 10:30 – 18:00 GMT
“Good ideas lie everywhere.” – Sir Bruce Keogh at Advancing Innovation in Health event.
Roughly every fifty years, healthcare experiences significant disruptive changes leading to a healthcare revolution in clinical care. For instance, the discovery of penicillin in 1928 accelerated use of medication for the treatment of diseases and the adoption of the randomized controlled trial in the 1940s brought in an era of evidence-based medicine.
With the rise of new age challenges like obesity, antimicrobial resistance and diabetes, the next revolution is now upon us. We would like to invite you to join us and the King’s Entrepreneurship Institute on a one-day workshop where we will develop ideas to tackle the biggest challenges in healthcare.
The event will consist of brainstorming sessions to develop innovative ideas and solve the issues surrounding health challenges (including but not limited to diabetes, obesity, and antimicrobial resistance). Teams will then present and receive expert advice on how to formulate, adapt, and tailor their ideas before presenting to the esteemed judges carefully selected from the scientific and business communities. Prizes are available for the best idea!
Attendees are welcome to form their own teams beforehand, or come as an individual and form a team on the day!
If you cannot attend the whole event, you can come to support your friends as a part of the general audience when they present their ideas to the judges (there is the option to register to attend only the presentation + networking session).
Food and drink will be provided throughout the day, with lots of opportunities to network with other like-minded students and staff.
Maybe your future enterprise starts here? We are looking forward to seeing you there!
