Frequently asked questions
5-12year olds welcome. Children from their fifth birthday up until their 13th birthday. For other age children we are happy to run private days catered to the age groups specific needs.
A full list will be sent after booking. They will need packed lunch and water bottle and appropriate clothes for the weather.
This event is children only. We do hold events suitable for adults and for families. Our regular foraging days are fun for the whole family. We also run occassional family days with specific woodcraft skills from den building to whistle making.
We carry on in most weather conditions. So please make sure your child has full waterproofs, waterproof trousers and waterproof coat. If sustained wind speeds are forecast to be over 38mph with gusts are over 40mph or there are overhead lightning storms we may need to cancel or call for collection.
Yes. We will have camp fire food to suit your child. Just make sure you let us know details in the booking form. We like to have the same options for all on the day.
We keep groups size small so we can do exciting and fun activities and support children's interests.
Apart from a mixer activity to help everyone to get used to working together and to help everyone find friends for the day the children will be free to be together. It doesn't take us long to form an integrated group where everyone feels like a friend.

We have so much fun and the day zips by. Den building, learning to whittle with a knife, weaving willow, tying knots, playing big run around games, music, climbing, learning to light a fire, sparking, cooking, getting artistic and creative, inventing games, bows and arrows, charcoal pencils....
