DESCRIPTION

ADVERSITY, A TEMPLATE FOR GROWTH - TRAUMA INFORMED PRACTICE

Re Attachment presents Tina Hendry (Re Attachment), James Docherty (Violence Reduction Unit, Scotland) and Jade Kilkenny (a young person with personal experience of living in the care system), who will share their knowledge and experience of the impact of ACEs to expand your understanding of the associated behaviours.

Developmental trauma impacts all our communities in Scotland. This workshop takes the theory and evidence available and translates it to reality It will show how real lives are impacted by ACEs and through their reflections on their individual journies, show how ACEs are crucial to trauma informed practice. It will help you to see the child, young person and adult and not the behaviour.

We will explore:

  • can understanding the impact improve outcomes for our children and families?
  • can looking at behaviours through ACEs reduce the barrier to connection and relationships?
  • can adversity become a template for growth?

Join us in PERTH on a journey of understanding and hope, poor outcomes are not inevitable when we are emotionally available.

We never said it would be easy, but we can tell you IT WILL BE WORTH IT!
