About this event

Science & Tech • Social Media

The Higher Education Archive Partnership (HEAP) is a network facilitated by The National Archives, which provides support to HE archivists.

This event will equip attendees with strategies and tools to effectively advocate for digital development, align digital initiatives with strategic goals, and communicate their value to stakeholders. There will also be a tour of new digitisation facilities at the University of Liverpool, including the Digital Heritage Lab.

The event will involve two interactive workshops facilitated by Simon Wilson, Archive Consultant, which will look at key topics and considerations when advocating for digital support. The session will look at 3 scenarios; advocating to develop your personal digital skills, advocating to increase team capacity for digitisation/digital preservation and advocating for a digital preservation system. This workshop is intended to be of practical value and attendees should think about their own specific needs in terms of advocating for digital support as the workshop hopes to draw-out and develop those ideas.

Two tours will run alongside the workshops. You can choose whether to attend a workshop or tour at 13:15 or 15:00.
