Event description

Description

Following on from the highly successful roll-out of 1,200 AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) through our 'Defibrillators for Sport' Programme; we are offering the opportunity to provide any holders of AEDs, within Sports Clubs or Community Voluntary organisations; to undergo a free awareness session.

This session will cover the basic maintenance, and usage information that is essential to ensuring the maximum effectiveness of an AED in the event of an out of hospital cardiac arrest, and maximise the chances of survival within the first vital minutes afterwards.

To date we have successfully trained over 860 people and are hoping to exceed 1000 participants this year. We will be holding 2 sessions per council area between 16th October and 8th December 2018.

Our awareness sessions will last approximately 2 hours. AEDs should be used as a part of the 'chain of survival' and not as a substitute or alternative for CPR. Please note that this awareness session is not subject to examination or any qualification upon successful completion.

If you have any queries regarding content, or attendance of the course please call 028 9038 1222 or email andrewwatson@sportni.net.
