Overview

This session discusses the development of a low-cost, high resolution sensor network to measure microclimate.

Small-scale environmental conditions have great influence on species responses to global change. Therefore, measuring microclimate is an important challenge, not only in ecology. Most sensors are expensive, and many sensors are needed for measurements of small-scale variation. These make microclimate measurements inaccessible for a wider audience. We developed a low-cost, high resolution sensor network with hardware that is cheap, easy to purchase and that uses freely available software. In this workshop we will present the sensors, share lessons learned from projects using the sensors and discuss potential future applications.

The online workshope will take place on Zoom. Details to join the event will be emailed to registered attendees close to the date.
