Aerial Tree Cutting
This intermediate level Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees With A Chainsaw Using Free Fall Techniques will allow the trainee to utilise a chainsaw in the tree, with particular emphasis being placed on obtaining a safe and effective work position. This course supercedes the old CS39 ticket.
What is covered?
In addition to health and safety aspects, relevant legislation concerning climbing such as LOLER, and visual tree assessments will be covered. The course covers both handheld and free fall methods of cutting using step cuts and sink cuts. Identification of the branch-bark collar is covered, so that accurate pruning cuts can be made.
Work positioning methods will also be discussed.
