Description

As part of the Explore Your Archive campaign, the Historic England Archive is holding a free open day from 11am - 3pm where you can discover more about the aerial photographic collections held by the Archive. The event will include displays, activities, and talks. There will also be original Archive material for you to view. The open day is running on a drop in basis, but the talks are ticketed.

This ticket is for the following talk:

Aerial Reconnaissance at Historic England by Damian Grady. The Historic England aerial reconnaissance team have been taking aerial photographs for 50 years. This talk will illustrate the types of sites and landscapes we have recorded In that time. We will also look at how we use archive images and new technology to map extensive archaeological landscapes.

Places are limited to 50. The Historic England Archive building is largely accessible and we have parking bays for disabled visitors which can be booked by calling 01793 414700.
