To coincide with the new film installation The Colony by Vietnamese artist Dinh Q. Lê, Artangel present a selection of artists' short films exploring aerial perspective. The films will be screened at Peckham Multiplex and introduced by Dr. Duncan White, Research Fellow at Central St Martins.
Next door, at 133 Rye Lane Lê's The Colony is exhibited on the site of one of London’s earliest cinemas, Peckham’s Electric Theatre which opened in 1908. For the installation Lê used drones to capture the desolate environment of the Chincha Islands off the coast of Peru, a bleak landscape haunted by a brutal past.
