The programme aims to empower adults with or at risk of Type 2 Diabetes to improve their health and wellbeing through aerobics exercise in conjunction with healthy eating and diet.
Our aerobics classes for Type 2 Diabetes Programme is expected to motivate adults of all ages to develop and sustain active lifestyles to combat health problems, such as heart disease, obesity, and the risk of Type 2 diabetes.
This programme is being run in conjuction with our Fight Against Type 2 Diabetes with Boxercise programme which is held on Saturdays between 10.30 and 11.30am at the Claremont Project.
At the start of the programme, participants will complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) which will identify any health issues, and allow the coaches to assess individual needs for the programme.
Anticipated outcomes include improvements in:
1. Fitness levels
2. Mental health and wellbeing
3. Blood glucose control for those with and at risk of Type 2 diabetes.
