Description

This one day training course aims to increase the participants understanding of autism while providing a wide range of approaches, strategies and systems aimed at developing good autism practice in a range of areas including for example: increasing engagement, reducing anxiety, adapting learning environments, promoting independence, structuring and personalising learning.

It is suitable for staff who work with and / or support colleagues who work with children on the spectrum in both mainstream and specialist settings.

The training will:

  • Enable practitioners to develop their knowledge and understanding of good autism practice.

  • Provide practical strategies, guidelines and activities that can be used to support autistic children in their settings

  • Support practitioners to reflect on and improve their own practice.

This session is suitable for practitioners working with school-age pupils on the autism spectrum in both mainstream and specialist services.
