Event description

Description

South Lough Neagh Regeneration Association (SLNRA) are officially launching its new 'Bringing People Together' project Saturday 14th December at Portadown Town Hall.

SLNRA is delighted to have been awarded funding under the EU’s PEACE IV Programme and part of the project we are including a play.

Premier Theatrical will be presenting AFFLUENCE, a comedy play by Welsey Burrowes. This play has been a sell-out gig in Armagh Theatre & the Grand Opera House.

The comedy is set on the island of Duck, where people hold beliefs because their father, grandfather & great grandfathers held them. The need for change is considered to be impertinent to the natural order, and the earnest efforts of professional peacemakers and international do-gooders are seen to be about as useful as a chocolate fireguard. This production is not to be missed and it will break the ice for a series of planned workshops that demonstrate our shared interests.

Louise Taylor, Project Manager at South Lough Neagh Regeneration Association said, ‘This project will highlight the similarities our different cultures have. I am excited to bring new people on a journey of discovery and cannot wait to see the outcomes of this project.’

The project is being supported by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council as part of the PEACE IV programme. The PEACE IV Programme is a cross-border initiative, financed through the European Union and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). It has been designed to support peace and reconciliation in Northern Ireland and the Border Region of Ireland.
