Event description

Description

The Africa Forum welcomes all members and supporters of Church Mission Society to the 2017 Africa Conference. The weekend is a time of prayer, fellowship and shared learning about God’s mission in Africa with churches and organisations partnering with the Church Mission Society.

“It was an absolutely amazing conference at Swanwick. We must get up a group to go next year. Inspirational stories from around the African continent and great teaching…..” (previous conference delegate).

Conference Theme: Developing Sustainable Mission

With keynote speakers: Jonathan Lamb (Minister-at-large of Keswick Ministries) and Dennis Tongoi (International Director of CMS-Africa).

This year our main speaker is Jonathan Lamb, who will be sharing on the conference theme.
‘Our task in mission must always be committed not only to see people come to faith, but to come to maturity in Christ. And not only so, but to see people become part of productive, mature and mission-minded congregations. And the good news is that God provides all that is needed for such sustainable mission. And there’s even more encouragement: what God begins, he will complete, and we can be sure that, as we sow the seed, there truly will be a wonderfully fruitful harvest! We hope to explore these great themes from scripture in ways which will encourage us forward here in the UK, as well as in Africa and all around the world.’

FAQs

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Find more information and directions at the conference centre's website here. If you need help with transport, please let the organiser know. We attempt to match attendees needing lifts with those who can offer spaces in their car.

Do I have to pay for the full cost upfront for can I place a deposit?

Due to the small booking window, we are asking all delegates to pay the full fee upfront (see refund policy below). We would prefer bookings to be paid via credit card online, but an option to pay by cheque is available. An early booking discount of £5 is available until 20 September.

Do I need to print the ticket that Eventbrite emails to me?

It would be sensible to retain your order number, which is on the email, but the ticket will not be required.

Can I share with a room with a friend?

If wish to share a TWIN room with a friend we recommend that one person does the booking on behalf of both parties.

I would like to make a donation to help those who cannot afford to come to the conference – how can I do that?

We have created a 'ticket' called Donation - where you can enter any amount. Donations collected this way will help subsidise the places of those who are unable to afford the full-cost of the conference. If CMS holds a Gift Aid declaration from you, Gift Aid will be added. We also receive a bursary that roughly doubles the value of your gift.

Subsidised conference fees

If you would like to apply for a subsidised place, please contact the organiser.

What's the refund policy?

Over 30 days from the event: refunds available
Under 30 days from the event: at the organisers discretion - please contact us immediately

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please contact Nick Fane, 01684 566601 or ac2017@fanes.uk
