HOW WILL IT WORK?

Eh, eh, what is with these African Diaspora Accents & Dialects workshop? Using their combined experience as actors and accent coaches, Hazel Holder and Joel Trill are offering an introductory workshop, to help you learn the basics regarding two specific African accents. Using techniques that they have developed in rehearsal rooms and classrooms, you will learn how to identify and embody the prosodic features of two African accents. The workshop will offer practical, creative ways from which you can explore the African accent territory with confidence. These workshops are deliberately aimed towards those wanting to gain a foothold on accents to attend castings.

What will you get out of it? You will be given a handout detailing the basics of two distinct African accents. You will be offered opportunities to reflect on your learning through group discussion, and some tips on how to explore the accents further.
