Event description
An evening of music, celebrity readings and congregational carols to kick-off your festive season and to support primary schools in Kenya.

About this event

After a one-year hiatus, our popular Christmas Carol Service is back for 2021 in the heart of London's West End.

With musical performances from the London International Gospel Choir and singer Katie Marshall, seasonal readings by stars of stage and screen including Charles Dance OBE and Simon Callow CBE, as well as the chance to belt out your favourite traditional Carols, the evening is sure to leave you feeling in the festive spirit.

There will also be the chance to shop for Christmas gifts from our friends Artisans & Adventurers who will be donating 20% of takings to us and offering a further 10% discount on their range of ethical jewellery, homeware and accessories handmade to fairtrade standards by artisanal producers in Kenya and elsewhere.

Tickets are available online only priced at £25 which includes a glass of wine and a generous helping of handmade mince pies after the service, and every penny raised goes towards supporting 3,000 disadvantaged children across our network of partner schools in rural Kenya.

Our performers and readers

We have a star-studded line up of readers including award-winning star of Game of Thrones and The Crown Charles Dance OBE, the renowned actor, author and director, Simon Callow CBE, and star of the original London production of Hamilton, Giles Terera MBE.

The service will also feature performances from the always-popular London International Gospel Choir, as well as Classic BRIT nominated and award-winning Soprano Katie Marshall.

*Unfortunately, a previously announced reader Adam James has had to withdraw due to work commitments. He sends his apologies for any disappointment.

"The service was absolutely beautiful - really lovely singing and beautifully chosen pieces. My husband thought it the loveliest carol service he had heard."

FAQs

Are there any Covid protocols?

UPDATED 1 DECEMBER

- We ask all guests to take a lateral flow test before attending this event (ideally on the day) and not to attend if this returns a positive or inconclusive result.*

- Guest numbers will be limited to 200 (about two-thirds capacity). We will try to observe social distancing in pews as far as possible.

- Face masks will be mandatory for entering/leaving the church and when moving around but will be optional (though encouraged) when seated and/or singing

- Doors will open 15 minutes earlier than normal at 1745 to minimse congestion on entry. Please arrive as early as you can and observe social distancing when queuing. If you can, please present your ticket(s) on a mobile device.

- During the reception to follow, refreshments will be served in a staggered way using a one-way system and guests will be invited to return to the pews to enjoy their wine and mince pie, and further performances from the choir, rather than to congregate at the back of the church.

Please note, we will *not* be asking you for proof of vaccination or of your negative test result.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This is an adult (over 16s only) event, however babes in arms are most welcome.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is no parking available at or around the church other than by arrangement for guests with a disability. We highly recommend that you use public transport to get to the church, which is a few minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road underground station or from Charing Cross Station.
