Afro Beats Dance Class

Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. We run activities to promote health and wellbeing every Tuesday at Earl's Court and Thursday at Violet Melchett.

We’re excited to host a vibrant Afrobeats Dance Class, this will be on Thursday 16th June from 4:30pm for refreshments and the class will start at 5:00pm – 6:00pm. This fun, high-energy session blends Afrobeats, Soca, Afro RnB and more - designed to get you moving, feeling good, and celebrating community through dance and music!

Please arrive ontime at 4:45pm for tea and refreshments in Community Corner - we would be grateful if you could be prompt and if you are going to be late please let us know. The event will be held in CMS waiting room so we will walk over together at 4:50pm.

Afrobeats Dance Session with Cheri Coco

Get ready to move and groove in our energetic 60-minute Afrobeats dance fitness class! You'll discover a vibrant fusion of traditional African dance steps and modern Afrobeats styles, designed to get your heart pumping and put a smile on your face. Expect to explore dynamic moves like the Azonto's intricate footwork and shoulder shimmies, the Shoki's playful gestures, and the powerful chest pops and body isolations of the Gwara Gwara. We'll also incorporate fluid waistlines and rhythmic stepping, all set to the infectious beats of Afrobeats music. No prior dance experience is needed – just bring your enthusiasm and get ready to sweat, smile, and unleash your inner dancer!
