AFTER THE ACT is a quiet but emotionally shattering drama set over 24 hours in Berlin. Sam and Mia, two writers at different stages of their careers, move through their daily routines in Sam’s apartment – comfortably, affectionately, almost effortlessly. But when a casual remark about their friend Becca exposes a devastating betrayal, the fragile balance between them collapses. Across one day and night, the three friends must confront the fracture of trust, navigating guilt, self-preservation, and the faint hope that love might still survive the damage.

Filmed in Berlin, AFTER THE ACT is steeped in the traditions of arthouse and slow cinema, drawing inspiration from Éric Rohmer’s observational intimacy, Hong Sang-soo’s sharp honesty, and the raw immediacy of Berlin mumblecore. Critics have called the film:
