Event description
PRONI and the Western Front Association invite you to conference looking at pension records for the post 1914 period.

About this Event

In the years after the First World War, and the post 1916 conflict in Ireland, those who had been injured and their families looked for support from the British and Irish governments. Records relating to these pension claims are now being made available on line. As well as providing an important resource for family history researchers these records provide an insight into social conditions in the first half and the twentieth century.

Speakers include:

Bruno Longmore (Head of Archive Depositor Liaison, National Records of Scotland) on the records of the Scottish WW1 Pension Appeals Tribunal, 1919-1932.

Cécile Gordon (Senior Archivist, Military Archives, Dublin) on the Military Service (1916-1923) Pensions Collection Project.

Dr Tom Thorpe (PR/Media Officer, Western Front Association) on the WFA’s Pensions records project.

PRONI does not require you to print your tickets
