After the Mothership is for people leaving corporate life
There isn't a manual about what to do when you've left the Mothership. There isn't a place to go and find out what to do or meet people who are going through the same transition as you - until now!
The first thing you feel when you leave corporate life is alone. Then you feel confused, anxious, and disorientated. This is a major life transition, an emotional shock equivalent to getting a divorce or loved one yet there is very little support and advice and you have to find your way through it alone. You hadn't been expecting this and you aren't very well prepared for it. After the Mothership is here to help you through this process.
You now have the chance to create a new lifestyle and career that can last you for another 15, 20 or 25 years. One that is built around your values, your needs and your passions. it's a great opportunity but hard to grasp and it's all too easy to take a wrong turn or to lose heart. After the Mothership is here to help you discover and explore all your options and build the lifestyle you want.
We're also here so you don't have to be alone and isolated any more. We are creating a community of people who want to help and support each other on their journey's, share their setbacks and their achievements, and come together to make a real difference in the world.
I'm Colin Newlyn, the founder of After the Mothership. I've been on this journey and I've made just about all the mistakes possible. I want to help you avoid them and create something amazing for your future life.
Come and join with us
This is an informal gathering in a pub so that people can connect, share and support each other and know they're not alone.
The first thing we'll do so is say hello and share a little about each other - be ready to tell us what you love to do outside of work and career stuff!
Then we'll have a conversation about any challenges or questions about After the Mothership that you want to raise with the group. It's an opportunity to get different views and ideas from people who understand what it's all about. It's offered as an opportunity, if you don't want to ask anything then that's fine.
But mostly it will be chatting to and getting to know like-minded people who are in the same boat as you.
