With increased sales from the web, sooner or later artists will need to ship their art to clients (possibly overseas). This session explores what is involved and what do you need to consider.
We’ll be sharing ideas and dos and don’ts for:
- taking payments
- terms and conditions
- returns policy
- packing materials and methods
- carriers and other delivery methods
- pitfalls to avoid
No doubt the conversation will broaden to other aspects such using shipping as a marketing opportunity.

At the Cheltenham Art Office we know just how tricky it can be to make a living from Art. Many different skills are needed, as well as having skill and passion for your chosen art form. Everyone will have found some successful strategies as well as facing many different challenges.
Living from Art networking meetings are an opportunity to come together and meet others taking the same path. We hope more experienced artists and makers will come along and share what they have learnt with people just starting out.
We expect to find there is much common ground and as a group we can identify the kinds of information, support or training that might help you move forward. The group will consider whether this can be shared informally amongst ourselves or if some specific training or knowledge sharing sessions are the best way forward.
