Afternoon Tea & History Talk - The Forgotten Women of Calderdale

Join Us to Celebrate the International Day of Older Persons.

To mark this special occasion, Team Unmasked is delighted to welcome local historian David Glover for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to uncovering the remarkable yet often overlooked women of Halifax’s past.

We’ll begin with a delicious afternoon tea, followed by David’s engaging hour-long talk, where we’ll delve into the lives of: Hannah Logan, who walked from Halifax to London in 1832 Lucy Hamerton, who captured the quirks of 19th-century Elland Caroline Freeman, Calderdale’s first known female university graduate Eileen Nugent, secretary to Scouting founder Baden Powell.

These extraordinary women helped shape history — now it's time their stories are heard.
