Afternoon Tea & Jazz at Riverhill
Sat 10 June 2017, 14:30 – 17:00 BST
Bring your friends and family to our relaxed afternoon in a marquee in The Walled Garden and you will be able to enjoy upbeat jazz, a delicious afternoon tea and spectacular views across the Weald of Kent.
The Jean Bentley Dance Band will be playing fondly remembered music from the 1930s and 40s, much associated with the early dance bands. Its players bring a classical feel to this music, with a front line of strings and woodwind, plus a trio of saxophones, backed by a rhythm section of piano, bass, drums and percussion. A mix of Dixieland, other jazz styles and Latin dance music will be the perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea
Arrive from 2.30pm, find your reserved table, and Afternoon Tea will be served. The Jean Bentley Dance Band will begin to play at 3pm.
The Riverhill Afternoon Tea includes;
* A selection of freshly cut finger sandwiches, including local ham and mustard, egg & cress, smoked salmon and dill cream cheese, freshly-baked scones with local strawberry jam and clotted cream, a selection of homemade cakes and biscuits, all served with our Riverhill Afternoon blend of loose-leaf tea or filter coffee.
The Children's Afternoon Tea includes;
* A selection of freshly cut 'child friendly' sandwiches, including ham, cheese, local jam and honey, scones with local strawberry jam and clotted cream, 'Yeti Foot' shortbread biscuits, Kent Crisps & fresh fruit. Served with PIP Organic Juice or water.
If you have any special dietary requirements, please advise us no later than Friday 26th May 2017 by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
How to reserve your table
Please be aware that your table will be reserved for you, and will be set for the number of tickets purchased in this booking, so please book tickets for everyone in your party in one transaction. We cannot guarantee that tickets purchased separately can be accommodated at your table. If you would like to book a table for more than 8 people, please contact Katie Goddard at email@example.com.
Children's tickets can be purchased in addition to the number of seats at your table.
Will my table be reserved?
Yes, your table will be reserved for the number of adult and child tickets you have purchased in this transaction. We cannot guarantee that tickets purchased in a separate transaction can be accommodated at your table.
What is the dress code?
Dress code for this event is smart casual, although we do recommend flat shoes, as access to The Walled Garden is via gravel walkways, which are steep in some places.
As this is a garden event, you may wish to bring an extra layer and an umbrella, for accessing The Walled Garden from the car park.
Are you having a celebration?
For this event we will be selling local Kent sparkling wines. Please pre-purchase your order with your tickets. You will also be able to purchase further bottles on the day.
Are children welcome?
Children are welcome. As this is an intimate event, we would ask parents to be considerate of our other guests, and their ability relax, hear the music and enjoy the afternoon. We regret that we are unable to provide high chairs, so if your child requires support at the table, please bring your own cushion or booster seat. Child tickets (for under 16's) are priced at £18.
Is the event accessible?
Although The Walled Garden is accessible, there are approximately 6 steps up to access the marquee area. Please also be aware that we do not currently have accessible toilet facilities.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is free. As you enter the Gardens our parking is sign-posted to your left. Please be aware that the car park is on a hill, so our gravel walk ways and paths are sloped. For accessible parking, please follow the signs down the drive towards Riverhill House.

Can I come earlier?
Yes, your ticket offers you access to all areas of Riverhill Himalayan Gardens and the woodland on Saturday 10th June, and you are welcome to come earlier to enjoy all that this offers, including our cafe and shop. Do be aware that outside The Walled Gardens pathways may be steeper and muddier, so bring the appropriate footwear.
Can I bring my dog?
Although we welcome well behaved dogs on leads throughout the season, we are not able to accept dogs to this event.
What is your cancellation policy?
Unfortunately tickets to this event are non-refundable.
