In an era of disruptive innovation only brands that elicit a strong response will scale fast and grow big. IKEA, Airbnb, Uber and Paypal have challenged the traditional ways their industries operate, with an aim to make our lives easier or better. They’ve transformed the way we, as customers, see shopping, hospitality, transportation and finance, respectively. Most importantly, they’ve changed our expectations of other brands that we interact with.

After having revealed strategies of successful challenger brands to get you started, together we will work on your own business idea in an interactive setting. Those without a business idea will contribute to that of others. You’ll be provided with useful branding tools and guidance on how to define an authentic brand purpose, differentiated proposition and unique personality. Everyone will learn ways to build a brand that people will love.

Who is it for?

You can greatly benefit from this workshop if you have a unique startup idea that can bring something innovative to the market and want to grow big - not just survive. For others, UEA students from any faculty or alumni, it is an opportunity to work on ambitious business ideas in a team - trust me, we won’t let anyone doze off.

Who are we?

We are tea – two, Erika and Alina – and we are the most diverse small strategic brand consultancy born out of MSc in Brand Leadership, UEA. We hail from as far as Vietnam, Hungary/UK and Russia, respectively. Our combined backgrounds encompass journalism, design, business, advertising, PR, psychology and cultural semiotics.

We are advisors to startups at TechVelocity, Norwich’s first accelerator. We partner with startup founders and organisational leaders in helping them wire up their brands for business growth. But we also just love tea and learning, constantly, about brand strategy. So, if you ever feel the burning desire to have a chat about branding, let’s make it a date and meet for a cuppa.
