Age Camp Leeds
Event Information
Description
Age Camp Leeds
As part of our ambition to make Leeds the Best City to Grow Old In we are looking at how the digital world can make the lives of older people better.
This is the theme of Age Camp, Leeds on June 1 at The Carriageworks. It’s an open event for Leeds residents, service providers and technologists to get to know each other better, share ideas, discuss and plan what needs to happen to make Leeds an Age Friendly Smart City. Our goal is to understand the small steps we need to take in order to address the big issues!
What is Age Camp?
Age Camp follows the rich tradition of events that are run as open and inclusive forums. You set the agenda for the day and can then lead a group discussion, run a workshop or simply ask a question that relates to one of these four themes, linked to the Age Friendly Cities themes.
- Housing and Social Participation
- Health and Access
- Outdoor Spaces and Safety
- Transport and Inclusion
Can I attend Age Camp as a participant?
Yes. Once the agenda for the day is agreed with the participants, you can attend any of the sessions. The day is run in a relaxed and friendly manner, so you can join sessions at your convenience.
Why should I attend?
The event is an opportunity to find out more about what is taking place across Leeds to make it an age friendly city. It’s also an opportunity for you to have your say, showcase the work you are doing or see how you might get involved further.
Age Camp also marks the start of a programme of activities that will help us understand how the digital world might make the lives of older people better.
Hope to see you on June 1. Tea and coffee will be provided but please bring your own lunch. We are in a city centre location and you can buy it during the lunch break.
