This online session is open to Dementia Inclusive Singing Network members only. This training session led by Age Scotland's dementia training team will provide a general introduction to dementia. Topics will include: what dementia is, different types and symptoms and how they relate to dementia inclusive music activities, and communication with and inclusion of someone who is living with dementia. There will be a focus on dementia inclusion in online settings. The training is delivered in a fun and engaging way, with opportunities for discussion and interactive group activities.

This training is being delivered via Zoom. Once you register you'll be sent details of how to join the session. Please note that places for this session are limited and open to Dementia Inclusion Singing Network members only.

Who is this event for?

This event is aimed at community leaders and community choir and singing group leaders, organisers, volunteers and members who would like to become more dementia aware, so they can identify and support people affected by dementia in their group. The session will provide guidance on how to implement dementia inclusive strategies in online settings, for those who lead or would like to lead singing activities that support people affected by dementia.

Dementia Inclusive Singing Network

This session is part of Luminate's Dementia Inclusive Singing Network which aims to widen singing opportunities for people living with dementia across Scotland. The network is supported by the Life Changes Trust and the Baring Foundation, in partnership with Age Scotland, Scottish Care and Making Music.
