About this event

  • 4 hours 30 minutes

Organised by the National Centre for Mental Health, Influencing and Informing Engage to Change, and in partnership with CARE (Centre for Adult Social Care Research) this selection of talks will be delivered by world-leading researchers alongside national centres and organisations working toward a better awareness of learning disabilities and autism.

Engage to Change has worked across Wales since 2016 to support young people aged 16-25 who have a learning difficulty, learning disability, or autism to achieve their full potential. The project has worked with over 1,200 young people to offer job placements, supported internships, and job coach support over a seven year period.

Engage to Change is now in its 'Influencing and Informing' phase, taking forward the research and legacy work of the project to ensure it impacts policy and practise in Wales. The project is funded by the Lottery Community Fund in partnership with Welsh Government.

The National Centre for Mental Health (NCMH) brings together world-leading researchers from Cardiff, Swansea and Bangor Universities to learn more about the triggers and causes of mental health problems. We aim to help improve diagnosis, treatment and support for the millions of people affected by mental ill-health every year, as well as reduce the stigma faced by many.

This hybrid event is also available to attend online.
