Event description
Join us for a friendly cookery session in the lovely surroundings of Stanmer Park on the edge of Brighton

About this event

We’ll work together to cook a simple, healthy, light lunch at a relaxed pace, taking time to enjoy being in nature. Join us to learn a new recipe and meet new people.

The session will include a tour of Stanmer Wellbeing Gardens and of course there’ll be plenty of tea, coffee and cake throughout.

There are toilet facilities on site and basic shelter from the elements, but participants will need sturdy shoes and warm clothes that they don’t mind getting a little dirty.

Please note that there are uneven surfaces and pathways on site, please let us know if you have any accessibility issues. If you want to find out if this event is right for you please contact us on 01273 234810

Dietary information: This session is vegetarian and we can adapt it for vegan diets but this must be specified when booking. For any other dietary requirements, please contact us to discuss.

How to get there:

The course will take place in the beautiful Stanmer Wellbeing Gardens, just past Stanmer House and One Garden Brighton.

You can meet us on-site at the meeting point in the Patchway car-park at 10:30am or you can get a minibus up to Stanmer. This will be picking up from the Level at 10am and returning by 1:30pm. The pick-up point is the bus-stop at the bottom of Southover Street on the Level.

Find out more about travelling to Stanmer Park by car, train, bus or bicycle.

Covid-19 / Safety measures

This event takes place after 19th July when social distancing rules are scheduled to change. We will adapt our procedures and numbers attending this event according to the latest government guidelines when these are released.

This event has a reduced capacity of just 10 spaces. It takes place outdoors, with an area of cover which is open on the sides, in case of poor weather. Social distancing restrictions (1m+) and movement guidelines will apply throughout the event. Hand washing facilities are available on site and our team will encourage all attendees to use these regularly.

How to book

We ask for a payment of £10 to secure your place on the event.

This event is for people who are 60 +

Group bookings

You may book more than two tickets if you have a group interested to attend, however please note spaces are limited due to Covid-19. We are happy to arrange bespoke private events for groups of 6 or more people, please contact us to discuss the options on info@bhfood.org.uk.

Refund policy:

Due to current government guidelines and for the safety of all involved, we have greatly reduced the number of participants at our events. Any cancellations now have an increased impact on our ability to run a viable social enterprise. We are therefore unable to provide refunds except if there is a mistake with the booking and we are notified within 48 hours after booking. In the event of a local/ national lockdown or change in government guidelines, or terrible weather we will reschedule events if necessary and bookings will be valid for the new date or can be transferred to another event.

If you are unable to attend your event for any reason, we encourage you to transfer your booking to a friend who can attend in your place or let us know that you cannot come. Please provide us with the new attendee's details (for the purposes of track & trace) before the class starts by emailing info@bhfood.org.uk. Thank you for your understanding and support.
