At a time when our population is living longer, the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre (ADRC) at Bournemouth University (BU) aims to provide a space for meaningful conversation on core themes related to maintaining good quality of life as we age and supporting individuals living longer with long-term conditions, including dementia. We are excited to invite you to join us for the ADRC public event.

Everyone interested in celebrating 'ageing well' is welcome, whether you are simply interested in learning more for yourself, a family member, or as a provider of care in the social care or healthcare sector!

The keynote address will be delivered by Rachel Woodward Carrick Speaker and Author of Happy Silver People: How to Make Life Happier as You Grow Older.

We will be joined by:

Representatives from key stakeholder organisations who will highlight exciting local community initiatives.
Our dynamic ADRC Research Participant Group will share their experiences from our monthly coffee morning meetings and their invaluable contributions to research.
A diverse line-up of researchers who will present and showcase ongoing exciting research projects.

Together, we will explore opportunities for future collaboration with members of the public and local organisations, with the aim to bridge the gap between research, evidence, and practical application to promote the benefits of collectively ageing well together.

This event will be held at Bournemouth Gateway Building. Tea, coffee and lunch will be provided.

How to get to BU:

Lansdowne campus is located in the city centre and is easily accessed via bus and train links. For more travel information please see this link. There is no parking on site, however if public transport isn't possible for you there are a number of local pay and display car parks at Cotlands Road and Madeira Road.
