About this Event

Following the last 2 years successful sell-out Agency Best in Class one day Conferences, we are excited to invite you to join us at our 4th Best in Class Conference where we are launching and promoting "#AgencyForGood" as we begin the new decade. 

Agency for Good aims to celebrate the fantastic work we do to pay it forward and to provide you with further inspiration to help your Agency with its purpose, passion and cause within your communities. 

The event is not only for Agency Founders, CEO, MD's and members of Agency Leadership Teams, but we also welcome with open arms Agency Marketing Managers, CTO, Creative Directors, Client Service Teams and other key Agency individuals looking to learn more about the business of Agencies. Sorry, but it's not for non-execs, coaches, consultants or mentors and all attendees will be vetted.

Spencer Gallagher CEO & Co-Founder Agencynomics, Agencyphonics & Cactus and Robert Belgrave, Founder of Wirehive and Co-Founder of Offset.earth

Cactus is the UK’s leading Agency growth consultancy who have supported over 1,000 Agencies globally over the past 9 years.  Cactus works with the next generation of independent Agencies to help them scale. 

Spencer is also the co-author of Agencynomics, the Amazon five-star rated best selling book and Audiobook, and the Community aimed to help all types of Agencies scale from Start-up to the first £3-5M in revenue.  He also hosts Agencyphonics, a vodcast channel for Agencies.

Spencer started his Agency life in 1999 and exited his Agency Bluhalo, to Gyro in 2008 and took Bluhalo/Gyro to the 8th largest Digital Agency in UK in 2009. Gyro is now part of the Dentsu Network. 

Spencer will introduce the fantastic Robert Belgrave, our host for the day.

9.15am  Grant Logan, Founder Ability Today (our nominated charity) 

After life-changing road accident in 2003, Grant was set on a new path in life and wanted to help make his community more accessible and inclusive.

Previously set up The Wheel Life, the first social network for wheelchair users and The Wheel Life Guide, a directory of information for the disabled person wanting to do more with their lives.

Today he is Founder of Ability Today, an online platform providing News, Information and resources from around the world on all aspects of disability.  With the aim of connecting a community that is so often left behind and struggles to get the information that would enhance and benefit their lives. https://abilitytoday.com/

9.35am  Agency for Good Panel with:

Katie Langdon & Fi Edwards, Founders Skin and Blister

Fi and Katie met in 1980, and have been sisters ever since. They set up Skin and Blister on a mission to put the care back into healthcare communications, by only creating content that is meaningful, useful and accessible to patients, carers and healthcare professionals.

Skin and Blister works with like-minded clients, life-changing medicines, a dedicated, highly-specialised workforce, and no fixed office. Passionate about inspiring others to fit work around their lives, to make work more inclusive for everyone, Fi and Katie are excited to contribute to the panel for Agencynomics.

Peter Hoole, Co-Founder Agencynomics & Cactus

Pete has been working as an Agency CFO for over 15 years and prior to his involvement with Cactus and Agencynomics as Co-Founder, he was FD for Bluhalo, one of the fastest-growing Agencies of the late 2000’s before its sale to Gyro where he acted as a group CFO for their UK subsidiaries.

During the last 9 years, Pete has worked with many Agencies as Non-Exec CFO, helping them achieve their goals. 

Pete will share some of his extensive knowledge about the financial benefits of being an "Agency for Good".

10.40am  Channelling your Agency to help Solve Environmental Challenges Donovan Justice, Founder Digital Detox

Donovan strongly believes that Digital Detox can put technology to good use and as a team, passionate to make a difference in the world. 

The team at Digital Detox, put time aside to work pro-bono on Agency and Tech for Good Projects around  #environmentalscience sector challenges. They have been working with MARINElife tracking and doing some social network analysis of dolphins off the Dorset coastline.  All with Microsoft’s support and their AI Cognitive Services. This information will help inform local and national legislation.

 We have asked Donovan to talk about how to manage the process of investing time and the commercial benefits of the investment they are making, which not only help the environment, sustainability, moral but also make good commercial business sense too.

11.35am  The Four day Week, Emma Peacock Managing Partner & COO Wilson Fletcher

Emma’s manages operations for Wilson Fletcher,  Wilson Fletcher is a business innovation consultancy.  They partner with the people striving to transform their organisations to succeed in the digital economy. Together, they identify new areas of opportunity, shape breakthrough ideas, and design the strategies, services and experiences needed to unlock potential and power new growth.

Wilson Fletcher operates a four day week with a unique approach. We have asked Emma to present how organisations deliver this and how Wilson Fletcher’s unique approach is working for them so far!

12:15pm  Tamara Littleton, Founder The Social Element & Polpeo

Tamara founded Emoderation in 2002 and rebranded as The Social Element in 2017. The Social Element is a global social media agency providing social media solutions to some of the world’s biggest brands. They are the largest independent Agency in their space. There has a been a lot of talk about Gender and Ethnic Diversity within agencies over the past few years, but what about the wider diversity challenges including LGBTQ+, Age, and Cultural Diversity.

We have asked Tamara to speak about the importance of role models and Agile working practices to encourage and drive more diversity within Agencies. Tamara will help us understand the benefits a more diverse workforce brings to your Agency Business.

1.45pm  Encouraging Your Team To Do Volunteer Work, Tobi Oludayomi, Founder Studio 14 

Tobi is the Co-founder of Studio 14, a Digital Agency who build digital products that solve problems working with unique start-ups to FTSE 250 organisations. Talking about Tech, Entrepreneurship and Africa is what Tobi does best. He was included in the 2017 BIMA's 100 most influential players in the UK digital industry.

Studio 14 are a socially-driven company always looking to give back and set up TechHut Nigeria in 2017.  TechHut's Digital Day workshops are aimed at students aged 13-16. A team of volunteers give their time at local secondary schools, offering advice and hands-on experience to encourage young people to develop core skills in the hopes of closing the digital skills gap in Nigeria.

Tobi is currently focusing on disrupting the healthcare, financial and media industries in Africa, whilst running 4D Space a creative office and co-working space in Lagos Nigeria.

2.25pm  Leadership for Good Panel:

Jenny Plant will host a Panel with Laurent and Piers of Kyan to talk about their journey from start-up founders to building a leadership team. Laurent and Piers will talk about their culture of Trust and how culture sits at the heart of Agency for Good. 

They've brought 3 of their leadership team along to join the Panel and talk about the transition.

3.05pm  Using your Agency to Inspire the Next Generation, Becky Simms, Founder Reflect Digital

As Founder of Reflect Digital, Becky has built an enthusiastic and expert team with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver the results our clients need. She inspires her team to deliver an honest, personable and professional service, resulting in innovative and engaging deliverables which meet and exceed all expectations.

Becky will be talking about how Reflect Digital have built relationships with schools, colleges and universities with two goals in mind. To inspire the next generation, therefore, helping to minimise the digital skills gap locally and to create a pipeline of young talented potential recruits. 

Within the talk Becky will cover everything from work experience, internships, year placements through to Aspiration Digital an event the team run annually to inspire 250+ sixth form students. You will be leave with knowledge of where to start with building these relationships and a clear idea of the type of commitment required and the likely benefits for your agency from the varying opportunities.

4.05pm Be Kind to Yourself Before Becoming an Agency for Good, Amanda Daniels-Allen, Founder Koogar

Amanda is a leader in the field of Digital Marketing. She is the Founder of the award-winning company, Koogar working as a Marketing Architect providing integrated marketing solutions and strategies to Business Owners and Marketing Managers throughout the UK.

Initially qualified as a Graphic Designer, Amanda went onto to learn how to “build the Internet” by creating animations, studying code and advancing skills within user experience (UX) of websites in 1998. Going on to create some of the largest sites in the UK (including Liverpool Football Club and HSBC) and marketing them to ensure the best return for the investment made.

Koogar now makes marketing manageable for those that lack clarity, confidence and consistency; Integrating your marketing to influence your audience by constructing your own self-sustaining eco-system.

Amanda will share steps you can take to ensure you are where you want to be without compromising who you are.

4.45pm The Benefits of Taking on Advisory Roles as an Agency Leader, Vicki Reeves, Managing Director Digital & Deputy Group CEO at WPNC

Vicky founded Chameleon back in 1998, a successful, award-winning Digital Agency, specialising in digital strategy, website design and build, digital marketing and website hosting. In April 2014 Chameleon merged with leading direct marketing agency Watson Phillips Norman (WPN) to form WPN Chameleon (WPNC). WPNC is a truly unique agency because of the depth and breadth of experience spanning digital, direct and DRTV marketing.

Vicky’s focus with the agency has always been to remain dynamic and industry-leading in its approach to digital media, creating a stimulating environment for clients and staff alike.

 WPNC focuses on being innovative and delivering results for clients, whether that is increasing sales, donations or improving the user journey and experience. The agency, with 50 staff, works across commercial and charity sectors with clients such as Direct Wines, Cruise.co.uk, Donald Russell, Big Bus Tours, NSPCC, Plan International and Oxfam. 

We have asked Vicky to talk about the importance of taking on other advisory and non-exec roles from her experience as Advisory Council Member at the British Museum, London where she was selected to be on the board of the advisory council for the British Museum Friends charity as their digital and young persons advisor. To help the British Museum grow their membership.
