About this event

Civil Service Local are proud to bring you this event as part of their 'Unity, Not Uniformity' Connect event.

Join us to hear two personal and powerful stories from Emma and Hal.

This is a chance to hear a:gender chair Emma Dunn talk about her experiences as an intersex person. Emma will explain what it means to be intersex and take you through her personal story, from the discovery that she was intersex, through the challenges and stigma associated with non-binary bodies and ultimately to her self-acceptance and advocacy for others. Expect a roller-coaster ride of tears and laughter which will open your eyes to the realities of the lives of intersex people in the UK today.

An opportunity to listen to a:gender Business Manager Hal tell the story of his personal transition to be the man he is today… And who knows where it will take him tomorrow. He hopes that sharing his story with honesty and humour he will be able to help you more aware of some of the issues trans people may face just trying to be their authentic selves.
