This interactive workshop is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Agile and Scrum. Whether working in an environment which has adopted Agile or planning to move to an Agile environment, this workshop will provide the delegate with the essentials they require to successfully deliver high value and high quality software, iteratively, with the ability to plan and pivot to meet emerging business needs. To provide the delegates with relevant knowledge of all aspects of Agile and Scrum a lot of ground will be covered during this session. We will take you through a full lifecycle of a Sprint using simulations anchored in real world examples which will help you to;

• Understand: Agile and its benefits over traditional Waterfall and other approaches

• Focus: On the details of Scrum; User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Velocity, Burndown, Anti-Patterns, Definition of Done, Definition of Ready, Minimum Viable Product Sprint Goal, Work in Process, Scaling, Pointing and so on.

• Discover: The anatomy of a Sprint; Daily Stand-Up, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement

• Define: The roles and responsibilities of the Product Owner, Scrum Master and Development Team. Ensure that governance and decision making is clear to achieve successful business results

Presenters

This session will be led by Ryan Evans; Ryan is a practising agile / scrum coach and Scrum Master with over 20 years of experience across diverse sectors including public sector. Ryan is a Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner, SAFe Advanced Scrum Master and Leading SAFe Agileist.

Babita Kumar will be a co-facilitator; Babita is a former Director who has led several technology and digital Transformation programmes with organisations like HP, DHL and most recently at BP. Her global experience spans across multiple sectors like IT, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Aviation, Oil and Gas, Logistics, Supply Chain and Innovative technology. Babita is also a qualified Scrum Master and Leading SAFe Agileist.
