Facilitation is a key skill required to foster collaboration and enable self-organizing teams. This two day ICAgile Certified workshop focuses on the mindset and role of an agile team facilitator and provides a range of tools and techniques that can be used for designing engaging meetings that drive towards agreed-upon outcomes.

By attending his highly interactive, powerpoint free workshop you will gain the necessary skills to design meetings for maximum impact. You will come away with both updated toolkits and practical experience that you can use back in the workplace while leveraging your new skill sets to facilitate agile practices towards successful team outcomes. You will also be eligible to attain the ICAgile-Certified Professional Agile Team Facilitator certification. This course has been designed and developed by Simon Powers and the AWA Team, the global community of practice for agile and organizational change.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

ScrumMasters, Agile Project Managers, Agile Coaches and aspiring coaches, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and anyone with the desire to explore the power of facilitation.



PRE-REQUISITES:

This an intermediate-level course for practitioners with at least 6 months of hands-on agile experience. You will build upon the experience you already have working with agile teams.


ACCREDITATION:

This course is accredited by the International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile) as fulfilling all Learning Objectives in the Agile Team Facilitation track. After successful completion of this course, you can apply for the ICAgile Certified Professional-Agile Facilitation (ICP-ATF). This continuing education certification is a key step toward achieving the ICAgile Expert-Agile Coaching (ICE-AC), the industry’s first competence-based certification. There is an ongoing assessment throughout the class as well as a practical assessment at the end of the course that you will need to pass. As long as the trainers believe you have demonstrated competence and that you have understood the learning objectives and you do not miss more than 1 hour of the course then you will receive the certification. The certification is included in the price of the course. Following the class you will receive an email from ICAgile with your Certification.

SIMON POWERS

Simon Powers has over 20 years’ experience helping very large organisations to thrive in the market and to be better places to work. He works with the board of directors or senior managers to transform the way that they see themselves, each other, and their organisations. The results are better organisational design, better processes, more engaged staff, and an organisation that is customer focused and more successful. He has been using Agile and Lean for the last 14 years, initially within IT, but in the last 5 years across the entire organisation. Simon founded Adventures with Agile (AWA), a global community of practice for organisational change in 2014. He founded the AWA consultancy in 2015, and his experience comes from both his own direct experience and through the consultants that work for Adventures with Agile working across many of AWA’s clients.

Belinda Waldock is an experienced agile guide and trainer. She is a qualified business coach, mentor and facilitator, and author of the popular introduction to agile principles, practices, teams and culture, “Being Agile in Business” Since 2000 Belinda has worked with an array of sectors and disciplines to support growth, improvement and innovation. She believes agile ways of working along with a coaching led approach is valuable to all varieties of teams and organisations for improving, and sustaining growth, productivity and well-being.Belinda has worked for over 10 years with technical and non-technical teams validating the high value of adopting agile and coaching led approaches in a variety of sectors and disciplines, including, technology, creative, arts & heritage, education, manufacturing, design, finance, HR, marketing, and leadership. A guide in the community for ‘being agile’, Belinda is a regular speaker at conferences sharing her experiences of adapting agile for its wider application in business and in life, as well as in the tech community. Her ‘Retrospective Sailing’ game is a popular method combining agile, coaching and facilitation skills to aid reflection and encourage open communication and continuous improvement in teams. She is also well known in the agile community for her role in the growth of the globally recognised Agile on the Beach conference. When not on Adventures with Agile Belinda can be found ‘being agile’ providing custom agile coaching, mentoring and training to high growth teams and organisations. At home in Cornwall, she is co-founder and director of Software Cornwall, an organisation that supports its growing tech community. Outside of work, she enjoys ‘being agile’ out horse riding in the beautiful Cornish countryside.
