Agri-Tech East SIG Event: Bring Out Your Data
Tue 21 March 2017, 09:30 – 13:30 GMT
We often hear of farmers and agri-businesses who have huge data sets that they believe would give them real insights into their business, crop or livestock and land management practice, if only they had time or opportunity to interrogate and manage the data simply and easily. This workshop will explore the various options available to any agri-business looking for partners to help them make sense of their data. Most importantly, it will also help you frame the question you are hoping that your data can help answer.
Our aim is to help agri-businesses understand the options available for larger data sets that may require more work to derive better value. A number of providers will be featured who can, via confidential projects, offer solutions to manage and curate “big data” challenges, as well as helping to shape the challenges in the business that might be addressed by data solutions. This event will be a brokerage opportunity for those with challenges and possible solutions to meet.
We’ll be using our express networking format to give delegates 15 minutes each to sketch out the problem (farmers) and whether there is a solution available (providers) with the opportunity to follow up if appropriate after the event.
This workshop is for farmers, growers, retailers and processors with significant data sets, and for academic and commercial data scientists with a variety of solutions to help make sense of them. It will explore the variety of options, over a range of timescales (3 months to 2 years) to enter into projects to help derive more value from your data.
