Event description

Description

Join us for the second of our AGRI innovation support workshops on 6th December 2017 at the AGRI Epi Centre – on the Harper Adams University campus in Shropshire. Following the success of our first workshop the second one will focus on two key areas involved with agri-tech and agri-food: Precision Farming and Photonics – sensing with light.

The day will be split into two sections, both a mixture of seminar style presentations and opportunities for interactive working and group networking. The morning will focus on precision farming and look in more depth at some of the current emerging technologies utilising robots and sensor technology for tasks such as weeding, phenotyping, spraying and analysis. The afternoon will look at photonics with a focus on optical sensors used for tasks such as monitoring nutritional or moisture content in foods such as flour as well as its more general application in food and drink manufacture as a whole.

The workshop is FREE to attend and is part of the AGRI project; a joint innovation support project run by Aston University and Harper Adams University and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
