Description

‘Agroecology is a revolution! We are killing the Earth…the most urgent task we face is the search for ways to protect it. ’ Marlen Sanchez, Latin America Agroecology Institute, Nicaragua

Small scale farmers in Nicaragua are among the tens of millions of people globally already directly affected by weather extremes: violent storms, droughts, floods, and crop failure.

Using photos and videos Brittany Oakes and Helen Yuill (Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign) will discuss how Nicaraguan farmers, members of the Association of Rural Workers (ATC), are addressing the climate crisis through agroecology programmes that protect the well being of people and the environment.

Fair trade products and Nicaraguan food and drink for sale.
