About this event

You're invited to Halstead Hill Farm for an autumnal agroforestry tour with Professor Chris Stoate (Agro-ecologist) and Dr Miriam Stoate (community environmentalist and educator) who are also farmers.

Chris and Miriam will explain how their agroforestry brings benefits to wildlife, soil and water, while also sequestering carbon and producing food, including heritage varieties of apples, plums and cobnuts.

Enjoy sweeping views across High Leicestershire and time to learn and ask questions about farming for wildlife at field and landscape scales.

Chris, an agri-environmental researcher at the nearby Allerton Project for more than thirty years and Honorary Professor at Nottingham University, has also studied farmland ecology in southern Europe and West Africa. Chris also keeps bees and honey from the farm and copies of Chris's books will be on sale.
