Event description

Description

In this 1-hour session, the children will use a Cozmo to learn about artifical intelligence and key programming and engineering concepts in a fun learning environment.

Cozmo is more than a computer—it's an AI with personality. Learn coding with Cozmo and see its artificial intelligence react with giggles, jiggles, squeals, and squeaks as you triumph together on any task. Use visual coding to make alarm clocks, play block-moving games, and see what programming can do with a new electronic friend.

The session will be the first of ongoing weekly sessions held on Sundays, from 11:00 to 12:00 at Imperial College. Parents will be given the opportunity to sign up for further sessions should they wish to do so.

The sessions will be run by Samia Razak (Mechanical Engineer with an MBA from University of Oxford), Isabel Bonachera (MPhil. Physics, University of Cambridge, BS Engineering from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA), and Naveed Ghaffar (MSc. Computer Science and LLB Law, University of Birmingham).

If you got a Cozmo for Christmas and don't know how to use it beyond basic interaction, then this class is for you. You don't have to bring your Cozmo and computer/table to the sessions, as all equipment is provided, but you can if you like.

This event is a 1-hr trial session. All children over the age of 7 are welcome to register.

No prior coding experience necessary.
