AI Course for Small Business Owners: Work Smarter & Market Better
Overview
AI Course for Small Business Owners
Running a small business often means managing everything yourself. Social media, newsletters, customer emails, product development, SEO. Every task competes for your time and attention. It's exhausting, and it can feel like everything is urgent and nothing ever gets finished.
I understand this well. I've been running my wallpaper business for 15 years. I won the Grand Prize in the Global Etsy Awards and have taught workshops at Cockpit Arts. Three years ago, I turned to AI not because I'm technical (I'm absolutely not) but because I wanted to spend more time being the art director of my business instead of the admin, marketing and everything else director.
What I discovered is this: AI isn't about replacing yourself. It's about freeing your time, amplifying your creativity and letting you focus on the parts of your business you actually enjoy. It helped me make clearer decisions, get organised and win back time for my life outside work.
This workshop will show you how to do the same.

Morning Session - Making Better Decisions and Saving Time
Understanding your customers Stop guessing. Learn how to extract useful insights from your customer data, who buys what, when they buy it and why. I’ll show you simple ways to protect customer privacy while still analysing patterns effectively. We’ll also cover how to research potential buyers and create organised lists quickly. I used to spend hours gathering contact details manually; now it takes a fraction of the time. Emails that don’t take over your day Customer emails can swallow half your week. I’ll show you practical methods for reducing the time you spend replying while still sounding like you. Using AI as a thinking partner Sometimes you just need someone or something to ask the right questions. We’ll look at how to use AI, both ChatGPT and Claude, which behave quite differently, to help you clarify ideas, test assumptions and get perspective on your choices. Not to decide for you but to help you think better.

Afternoon Session - Marketing More Effectively in Less Time
Finding your brand voice This underpins everything. We’ll define how you sound when you’re at your best and save that style so you can use it consistently. Once this is done, writing social posts, newsletters and product descriptions becomes dramatically easier. Creating images Ever sketched an idea and wished you could show people a realistic version without hiring a photographer or illustrator? I’ll show you what AI image tools can genuinely do and where they fall short. Some are brilliant; some are not worth the trouble. I’ll be honest about both. Video content without the stress This one surprised me. You can film simple behind the scenes clips on your phone and AI tools can automatically find the highlights and edit them into short videos for social media. No fancy production needed, just enough to help people understand what you do and why it matters.
