AI for Bid Writing Training
Overview
This introduction to using AI for bid writing covers some of the most popular and developed large language model AI services, such as Chat GPT, Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity, and how they can be best utilised to assist with putting together well structured and accurate funding applications. The overview covers free and paid versions and the differences, utilising prompts effectively, ensuring referencing of data and information is accurate and providing examples of successful applications to enhance the understanding of the AI model.
Designed specifically for voluntary sector organisations, this practical session explores how AI can help charities and social enterprises work smarter in today’s competitive funding landscape. Participants will gain hands-on experience with tools that:
- Draft and refine impact statements, proposals, and boilerplate text.
- Analyse budgets, donor trends, and grant success rates.
- Summarise eligibility criteria and reframe project plans to align with funder priorities.
- Fact-check claims, update policy evidence, and cite authoritative sources.
- Translate raw datasets into compelling narratives and client stories.
- Proofread, role-play funder perspectives, and check consistency across applications.
The workshop includes interactive exercises, live demonstrations, and opportunities to share fundraising challenges and hopes for AI adoption. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with practical strategies to integrate AI into their bid writing processes—boosting efficiency, accuracy, and confidence while maintaining ethical and human-centred practice.
This is an online training session and will take place on Microsoft Teams. The link for the session will be received upon order confirmation. If you do not receive anything or are having trouble accessing the training, please email ibrahim.ansari@cvsbrent.org.uk
